New Orleans International Film Festival
Passion in Pieces was selected for a special screening. The tropical, exotic, wonderful city of New Orleans seduces you from the start. It is as much American as it is French as Italian as Caribbean - and everywhere there is great food that the locals talk about forever. I too fell in love with this laughing, shameless old woman who still raises her skirt to the sophisticates of the 21st century - and just doesn't care. I felt Shakespeare too would have have been right at home where there is drinking, sensual music and bright eyed women with sun-darkened skin. So where better to tout my little films of the great poet's sexual desires than the "Big Easy."

WorldFest International Film Festival, Houston, USA
Passion in Pieces won "Gold Special Jury Award".
This is only second in stature to the overall Festival Grand Award. The 36th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival received more than 4,500 entries from 37 countries - so we were very pleased.

Over the very busy four days there was much to be done. There were 9 exceptional seminars, presented by experienced professionals. These included: Kodak/24P Film Capture presented by Ken Replich and (in 2-parts). Special Effects with Steve Wolf (The Firm, Cast Away, America’s Most Wanted, The David Letterman Show). Agents & Managers & Studios: An Overview by Andrew Deane of Immortal Entertainment (LA). Writing & Selling Screenplays: Beyond the Script by John Truby. Indie Film Distribution by Stuart Strutin of Panorama Entertainment (NY). Acting, Casting & Modeling by Page Parks. Music Scoring for Film & Video presented by Shark (The Spreading Ground) Producing and Directing the Independent Feature - an informative panel on tells it like it is.

The Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans, the venue for the first
public showing of a Sam Small
